I started Doherty Tax Advising to provide the personal and tailored services that I value to individuals and their businesses. Leveraging the local, small, and independent business experiences I've gained through the years, expanded through work in a global tax practice focused on real estate, investment funds, and high-net-worth individuals, I can bring a comprehensive, educated, and caring approach in all I do.

I'm a native San Diegan and proud alumna of San Diego State University, where I earned both my bachelor's and my Master of Science in Accountancy degrees while also teaching in my graduate year. Growing up in a city that has expanded and evolved dramatically over the years has garnered me the opportunity to participate at many levels with entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and visions. From doing a bit of everything in a little restaurant in Hillcrest, in-house help for a fashion designer, working in and running boutiques, salons, to being a part of a shoe company that went from a back-of-shop wholesale business to a global trade, I've been inspired by those around me. They've taught me to be courageous in your dreams, thoughtful in the team you build, and respectful & embracing of your community.
Coming from a background surrounded by educators and tradespeople, a high value was placed on curiosity, with respect for those that teach and share what they've learned. As such, I've made educating part of what I do, be it formally in a classroom or by making sure that my clients have their questions answered clearly.
